TOEFL
TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. Like the academic IELTS test, it is an international standardized English proficiency test, which is often used as the English level evaluation test of every English speaking country and university.
The TOEFL test is scored based on the candidates’ listening, speaking, reading and writing to judge the real academic language ability in the academic language task environment. Because it is widely recognized by the country, more than 2.3 million people sign up for the TOEFL test every year.
The TOEFL test is divided into three versions
- TOEFL online Test (Internet-Based Test)
- The home test version of TOEFL iBT (Home Edition)
- TOEFL written examination (Paper-delivered Test)
The main version of the exam is the Internet-Based Test.
The full score of the TOEFL is 120, with 30 points for each part. Like IELTS, universities have different requirements for each subject. Take UBC as an example. UBC requires a minimum score not less than 90, listening and reading no less than 22, and speaking and writing no less than 21. The result is valid for two years, and it will be logged on to MyBest TM Scores for further requirements.
